Business Model Blueprints now available in Ukrainian

The Ukrainian Maker Association (UMA) has released a translation of the LocalEconomies.org collection of business models for makerspaces for use by their members. Several of Ukraine’s makerspaces have closed down since the start of the war in February 2022, largely due to the people running them either leaving the country or joining the army. Yuri Vlasyuk, Chairman of the Board of the UMA, says this makes the viability and survival of those that remain even more important. Makerspaces are playing a vital role in supporting the resilience of the Ukrainian people, as you can learn about in the Make: article ‘Makers in Defense of Ukraine: a year of fighting back with innovation’

The document they have translated is the Open Catalogue of Business Models, the initial version of the content on which the LocalEconomies.org web site is based. It was developed in the MAKE project and draws on interviews with more than fifty makerspaces and local manufacturers, including six in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian version of the catalogue can be found here.
