LocalEconomies.org was launched in December 2023 on a community call hosted by the Internet of Production Alliance. Created with the kind support of UKAID via the Research and Innovation Systems for Africa Fund, this website allows the Open Catalogue of Business Models content developed in the MAKE project to become a living document that can be continuously updated, expanded, and used in new ways. In particular the links between different models can be explored in a far more natural way now that the catalogue is online.
The website features each of the seventeen ‘business model elements’ developed in the original work as a ‘blueprint’, and introduces the ability to filter them by categories and tags. This functionality means that collections can be compiled for different organizational contexts beyond the initial list for makerspaces. Each blueprint can be printed to pdf to make it easy for users to retain or share the information.
