We want to deepen our understanding of what business models are being used, how, and where, to support open hardware initiatives. If you are working on open hardware and would be willing for us to interview you, please get in touch.
The original research for the blueprints on LocalEconomies.org focussed on makerspaces and other organizations in the distributed manufacturing ecosystem. It did include a number of open hardware initiatives, but we now want to deepen the focus on those. We have no geographic limits for this research – wherever you are in the world, we would love to hear from you.
The interview will last about 45 minutes and will seek to understand how your project’s business or financial sustainability model works. We will use the information you share to help us better understand the landscape of open hardware business models and to develop abstracted blueprints to share openly. We will not publish any of your information in a form that can be linked to you, or your business or organization, without your express permission to do so.
If you are interested to take part in our research, please complete this Google form, or get in touch via the Contact page.
